Meet Gais, a software consultant at Minds and Co.
Gais is a Software Consultant at Minds and Co. and based at our Aarhus office.
“Minds and Co. provides a very high level of freedom of responsibility. You have to manage your time by yourself, which is amazing.”
I started as a software intern for a semester. Afterwards, I became a student worker, and finally, when I recently finished my Bachelor of Engineering in Software Technology, I became a full-time Software Consultant.
Why did you apply for a position at Minds and Co.?
I felt that a company like Minds and Co. would provide a great work environment for developing myself. My tasks create an immediate impact, and I like the idea of a work environment where you know everyone quite well.
When does your work become meaningful?
My work becomes meaningful when I get to be creative. It was an extraordinary feeling when I saw a customer using something I created for them for the first time. That was a fantastic experience.
Software engineers do not necessarily do built something which you can easily showcase. It is not a physical product like a bridge but seeing people using the program I created feels great, and they give you excellent feedback and recognize a job well done.
How do Minds and Co. fit with your own career goals?
I want to improve my skills and have that to the next level. Minds and Co. empower and develop my communication skills with the clients and identifies customer pains, solutions, and value.
Additionally, Minds and Co. provides a high level of freedom of responsibility. You get to manage your time by yourself, and that is amazing. The feeling of freedom is super cool. It puts a bit of thinking, ” Okay, if I do this, then why am I doing that? Is it worth my time? Is it relevant?” – it helps develop my software skills and makes me grow as a person. They teach me to plan and be proactive, which is super helpful. I want to grow, and I want to make sure that I am doing something that I find meaningful.
What advice would you give a person joining the company?
Relax and do your best; Minds and Co. appreciates that. They do not expect you to know everything from the beginning. So, if you take it easy, enjoy the ride, and think about questions like “Okay, why am I doing this? Why is this important?” communicate with your team and colleagues because they are always ready for the curious questions you might have. So, yea, relax and do your best.
